We take the “just” out of “just a t-shirt.”

This year, we’re centring our gaze on one of fashion’s most overlooked garments: the t-shirt. Versatile, powerful, worn by basically everyone: from awkward first dates (thinking of basic straight guys right now) to protests to hangxiety-filled Sundays. It’s a garment so woven into our lives, we barely appreciate it anymore. And we barely think about the fact that one t-shirt drinks enough water to hydrate a person for 900 days.

For our 22nd edition, we celebrate the power of the t-shirt: how it adapts, transforms, surprises, and offers the perfect soft hug after an editorial breakdown. Then we pull the rug out: imagine a world where that wardrobe staple disappears: no reassuring shield under the sun, no canvas for your favourite silly slogans, no backup plan for “I have nothing to wear.”

This issue delves into two opposing realities: with the t-shirt’s endless possibilities and with its unmissable absence. We invite you to question a garment you barely think about and the industry that barely thinks of the planet. If you love a story that flips itself inside out (literally), you’ve found your issue.
